Gusto Offerings

You also have the option to upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time to meet the changing needs of your business. This can be helpful if you are just starting out and are not sure exactly which features you need, or if your business grows and you need more support.
If you want to provide benefits to your team, Gusto can help you build a benefits package or you can compare different plans and providers on the platform to find the best fit for your business. In addition to medical, dental, and vision insurance, you can also set up 401(k) plans, 529 savings accounts, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, workers' compensation, and life insurance through Gusto. Some of these benefits come with an additional per-participant cost. However, it's important to note that these benefits are not available in all states, so you may want to consider other companies that offer expanded benefits through PEOs if you are based in a state where Gusto's benefits are not offered.

Why Choose Gusto?
We decided to do a Gusto Review because it is absolutely great. They make the entire process simple, including getting set up and started with them. Running payroll cycles is incredibly easy and making adjustments each cycle poses no problem at all. Gusto has been fantastic. We are a small shop and we have no payroll or HR specialist on stuff. Gusto makes it so easy that we do not need to hire those specialists. If any questions or concerns arise, their support service is absolutely outstanding. They take you seriously and will resolve any issues you run into.
Employee Portal
Gusto provides an employee portal that allows your employees to manage many tasks on their own. They can use the portal and the Gusto Wallet app to complete onboarding paperwork, select benefits, and access pay stubs and other records. This can be convenient for employees and can save time for the HR team by allowing employees to handle some tasks themselves.
Gusto provides lifetime access to employee accounts as long as there is an email associated with the account. This means that even if an employee leaves the company and the company is no longer using Gusto, the employee can still access their pay stubs and other records through their Gusto account. This can be helpful for employees who need to access their records in the future, and it is a feature that is not offered by all small-business payroll services.
Integrations and Automation
Gusto offers a range of automation tools to help you streamline payroll and HR tasks. You can set payroll to run automatically at no extra cost, and you will receive a reminder the day before it is set to run. Gusto can also calculate, file, and pay your local, state, and federal payroll taxes automatically, and it will report new hires to the government on your behalf. Excellent Customer Support
Gusto provides customer support to users at all subscription levels via phone, chat, or email from its representatives in San Francisco or Denver. This can be helpful, especially for those who are new to setting up payroll and benefits, as you can get assistance from actual humans. However, it's important to note that customer support is not available on weekends, and priority payroll and HR support is an add-on feature. If you prefer to handle tasks on your own, Gusto also offers an online help center with checklists, step-by-step guides, and other information to help you get started.
Things to Consider
It's important to note that not all of Gusto's benefits are available in all states. While it offers payroll services and 401(k) plans in all 50 states, its services for health benefits, HSAs, FSAs, and commuter benefits have some geographic restrictions. Gusto has coverage in most states and Washington, D.C., but it does not currently offer these benefits in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
Gusto does not currently offer a mobile app specifically for payroll. However, you can access the platform from a mobile device using a web browser. Keep in mind that this may not offer the same user experience as a dedicated app and may require extra scrolling on some pages.
